Where Is Al Gore’s Global Warming When I Need It?
Well I’m back up kinda early this morning and those cold winds that blew here in South Carolina yesterday really did lead to some cooold (brrrr) temps this morning. It’s about 19 degrees this morning. Is it January? Did I miss Christmas? Where is Al Gore and his heat? So much for that theory. I guess I’m just complaining this morning because it’s been a long time since it was this cold around here.
On Saturdays I run my little antique store up near the mountains of North Carolina so I’m dreading how cold it will be when I get there in a few hours. I do have a nice little wood stove that will make it nice and cozy after I get it going so I can’t complain much. I get to meet a lot of nice people on the weekends at the store and I really enjoy my hours there mingling with the customers and the antiques. I enjoy giving them a few bucks off here and there so they can get a bargain and all my regular customers know I’m going to give them a deal so they seem to enjoy stopping by to see if I have dug up a treasure for them that week. I’ve got lots in store this week for them. I bought a lot of stuff from an estate this week and I have to get in there early to start getting it out of boxes and priced. Yep first ones in today will have a huge choice of new (old) stuff to pick through so it will be fun.
So Al I guess you can keep your global warming for now because I’ll be sure to stay warm today with my wood stove, my friendly customers and their smiles. Oh and if Virginia can somehow pull out a win today against Clemson I’ll be even warmer. Next week my Gamecocks from the University of South Carolina play the Tigers so I’m hoping for a couple of nice weekends in a row. Well I better go get that fire roaring and dust a few shelves.
