Do You Believe In Karma?

Published by gamecock46 at 2:04 am under Uncategorized Edit This

Karma. It’s an interesting idea that many people believe in and pattern their lives around. Do you believe? I think I’m kind of forced to believe because it seems like everytime I do something out of the way to help someone I end up quickly getting something nice in return.  Now I say quickly because anyone could just say well any good thing could happen to you at any time so how can you attribute it to karma? The thing is I have noticed that when I do something for someone the turn around time for me receiving something is fairly quick. Maybe I just am aware of it and notice it. Either way I think karma is very interesting.

I’ll bet if you think back you will find times in your life that you helped someone and then out of the blue you received either some help you needed or just a nice surprise that you didn’t expect. Whether you believe in karma or not I’d like you to conciously think about it next time you share some kindness with someone. I’ll bet you will be pleasently surprised when something good happens to you in return. It might even get you to thinking…Ah maybe there is something to this kindness thing.

Today I got something nice and I think it might be associated with something nice I did recently. Since I make a real effort to dish out my share of kind acts I’m not sure which one would have caused it but things like this happen to me all the time. As an independent filmmaker it is often hard to come up with the funds to do everything you want to do on a project. I have recently offered folks a chance to get a credit on my latest film if they go ahead and pre order the DVD now. I have finished filming and am in the editing stage and every dollar counts. Today someone in NY sent me $100 to help with finishing the film. A random act of kindness? I feel blessed that this person ran across my name and found out about the film. I hope that my random acts of kindness are simply repaying me for deeds done. During filming I was down to my last few dollars when someone again out of the blue sent me $1250 to help with filming. I didn’t know either of these people so why did they help me? For now I’m going to chalk it up to Karma. At least till someone convinces me different.

Help someone you don’t even know today. You will smile a bigger smile all day long if you do. I guarantee it.

Mark
